"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;" Psalms 37:7
Reread this verse and listen to what God is trying to tell you. Ask yourself, How does God want me to apply this verse in my life?

Things to consider: Am I spending enough time listening to God?

If we are all honest with ourselves I think we can all say no. So the next question is how can I spend more time listening to God?

Consider that you can listen to God all day as you go about your business. The key is keeping God on your mind as you go about your day. Ask yourself how is He guiding me? What does He want me to do to serve Him today?

Here comes the second part of the verse. Just because you are searching for His guidance doesn't mean you will receive it instantly. We must wait patiently. God will guide us but He will start by preparing us to Hear Him. This will take time and we will make mistakes. Trust and persevere and you will soon know God's will for you.

“My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves,” Proverbs 3:11-12
What is your first impression of these verses?

To be honest I have a negative impression. When I read discipline I mistakenly think punishment. While the definition of discipline can mean punishment, here the meaning is: training that corrects, molds, or perfects. Something to consider is that the word discipline is derived from the Latin word discipulus meaning disciple. Part of being a disciple includes discipline and rebuke. Now reread these verses. What is God telling you in these verses?

When I reread it I notice the last part: "the LORD disciplines those he loves,”  God is telling me, through Solomon, that when I go through struggles and hardships, God has good reason. God is disciplining me to shape and prepare me for His will.

Throughout our life God prepares us for what is next. He gives us the necessary experiences and knowledge to be His servant. What are some of your past "disciplines"  that God has used to mold you to be who you are today?

How can you apply this verse to your life?

Remember no matter your circumstance, God loves you.

"Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth." Isaiah 53:1-7
What is your first impression of these verses?

My first thoughts are why did Jesus do this for me and all sinners? We don’t deserve it. But then I realize these verses were written 700 years before Jesus. Not only did God do all these things, He had them planned well ahead of time. I can’t comprehend that kind of Love. Now reread these verses. What is God telling you in these Verses?

Again I am over burdened by my sins, but Jesus new before I was born and before He became my substitute what and who I would be. He knew that I would forget him at times. Yet I also see what love He has for me. He loves me (us) so much and He willingly did this for me (us). Through this act of sacrifice He forgives my (your) sins.

Reflect on what this means to you.

How can you apply these verses to your life?

Remember Jesus did this because you're worth it.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”

“What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-14
What is your first impression?

Mine is wow this is a long one, I should shorten it but each time I read it I feel God wants me to consider it all. I’ve been going through some tuff times mostly because of the wet weather again this year. Farming is looking like another tough spring for planting. But God says chill, you will have a chance in my timing. The second paragraph hits me the most. What do I gain from my toil? In time I will see the beauty of God’s plan. Reread these verses, what is God telling you in these verses?

When I reread it again the second paragraph stands out to me. I want to know God and his ways but I can’t fathom it. I try to box Him in too much. I care to much about me and being in control of my situation when I should let it go and enjoy the moment that God has given me.

How can you apply these verses to your life?

Remember God loves you and he shows it in His perfect timing.

We have just finished the season of Lent with the death of Christ and yesterday we celebrated the risen Christ, now what?

Let’s go to the Bible verse today in which Jesus says: “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
What is your first impression?

When I first read this I thought what a great verse for the day after Easter. We should go tell everyone about Jesus. But then I think about what a big task that is. Jesus says “all nations.” That means everyone we meet. I’m not always comfortable with that especially the people I don’t know. Why not, what is stopping me? Let’s read the verse again. What is God telling you in these verses?

This time the last sentence sticks out to me. Jesus promises that as I tell people about Him, He will be with me. If Jesus is with me then what is there to be afraid of?

How can you apply these verses to your life?

Remember Jesus is with you always!
April 6, 2010
I must admit this morning was a struggle for me. I struggled with what to post as the verse and then meditation. After much prayer, starting last night, this verse stuck out to me:

"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect." Psalms 18:32
What is your first impression?

Again, after struggling, this verse popped telling me that it's not me but God. I need to trust more and listen more. Let's reread this verse. What is God telling you?

As I read this verse over and over, my nerves calm and my anxiety goes away. I realize that even though what God calls me too is scary and I don't fully understand what it is I am doing, I can be assured that God will give me the strength and guidance to do His will. I can't do anything in perfection but God can make what I do in His will, perfect.

What is God calling you to do?

How can you apply this verse to your faith journey?

Remember do not fear because God will give you strength and guidance.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." Jeremiah 1:5
What is your first impression?

I am amazed that out of the billions of people in this world, God has a plan for me.  God Has an individual plan for each of us. This is beyond my comprehension. Let's read this verse again. What is God telling you in this verse?

God is telling me that I am special. He has an individual plan for me and I can relax in knowing this. For me it gives me comfort. I believe that I am doing His will right now. He planned this long before I was born. Isn't that amazing? He also knew you would be reading this right now. That means He planned this for you. That is even more amazing to me. What does God want you to get out of this writing?

How can you apply what you've learned to your life?

Remember God loves you so much that He created you with an important purpose. What you are experiencing right now is part of that purpose.

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light.” Isaiah 60:19-20
Reread these verses and ask yourself: What does God want me to get out of these verses?

Things to consider: This is a prophesy of the coming Christ. With that in mind, how does this now apply to us today?

Ask yourself what does the sun and moon do?

The sun gives us light and warmth, the moon give us light as well.

What does light do in darkness?

It reveals what is hidden; it allows us to see what is around us so that we may know which way to go.

What is meant by the sun and moon will no longer be our light?

Jesus, the light of the world, has come and now lives in and around us. The Holy Spirit now guides each of us. He shines in, thru and around us. He reveals what is hidden, allows us to see the truth so that we may know which way to go. During the time of Isaiah the sun and moon were worshiped. They were gods among many other false gods. What are the false Gods today?

This verse applies to us today because we are surrounded by false gods. We don't need money, possessions, power, stardom, or any other worldly thing to tell us or show us which way to go. God is our teacher. God is our guide. God is our light. What else do we need? The world can no longer offer anything for us because God is everything.
April 9, 2010
“…God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7
What is your first impression?

Let's reread these verses listening for God's guidance.

How is God guiding you?

God is light; remember yesterday we discussed what light does. It reveals what is hidden. When we walk in the light, God's way, we will live a life different from those walking in darkness. How are you walking in light?

When we walk in the light we won't live a sinless life but we should sin less. To quote Max Lucado "Sin may entice you, but it will never enslave you. Sin may and will touch you, discourage you, and distract you, but it cannot condemn you." Are you allowing the weight of sin to hold you back from doing God's will?

Remember: You are a child of light; you are purified with the blood of Jesus. Sin no longer has a hold on you.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am…” 1 Corinthians 15:10
This is a short one. Reread this verse over and over. What is God leading you to understand?

Think about your life. All that you have experienced has made you who you are today. The good, bad and ugly things in your past have molded you. What are some of the good things that have changed your life?

What are some of the bad things that have changed your life?

What about the ugly things? I would classify this as the things that you have done that you're not proud of.

Would you be the same person if these things hadn't happened to you?

By the Grace of God your past has made you who you are right now. You are the very person that God wants you to be. He has planned this from the beginning. He wants to use you now. Don't fight or hide your past, embrace it. How does God want to use those experiences?

Remember: God planned it this way. By Grace you are who you are and by Grace you will continue to be who God wants you to be. Go with confidence and live out Gods will for you.

“Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul.” 1 Peter 2:11 MSG
Let's read this verse over and over listening to what God is telling us through Peter's words.

What are you hearing?

In that ever so quiet whisper I hear that I am a child of God and my home is in heaven. This life is only the birthing process of my real life in eternity. As I hear God's voice I yearn to go home but I know that I cannot get there on my own, I must endure the process God has planned for me. Do you yearn for home?

When I was a child the things that I heard in church made me fear death. I've asked myself why over and over again and the answer is not totally sure but it goes something like this. During this time there were people who thought President Reagan was going to push the button and destroy the earth. That scared me. There were things I wanted to experience. This was childish and selfish of me. I was lost in my desires not in God. I wanted to "indulge [my] ego at the expense of [my] soul".

There was also something else.  I was afraid that I was not good enough to go to Heaven. Was this because the Gospel wasn't preached? I'm not sure, that was a long time ago but if the Gospel was preached I wasn't allowing it to sink in.  I lived my life trying to earn Heaven. After several experiences I realized I was lost in the doing and let go of control and let God take over my life. This is the time that I no longer feared death. In fact I started to yearn to go home. I experienced joy in living and in dying. Are you allowing your fear of death rob you of the joy of knowing you are on the road of your life journey toward home?

Remember: You are a child of God; your home sweet home is in Heaven. The struggles here are temporary.

“Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Psalm 86: 11
What is your first impression?

Mine was what a great prayer. I should say this prayer often. What does this prayer mean to you?

This prayer has great meaning to me. I need to be taught by God so that I may walk in His truth. This is something I can't do on my own. In my human condition I can't possible understand or know God and His ways.

I also need an undivided heart. When I allow other things to take precedence over God, I have a divided heart. When my heart is divided I'm not following God. What has divided your heart?

Let's reread this prayer and this time say it as your prayer.

“For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
Read this verse several times then listen to what God is whispering to you.

God formed us for a purpose planned in advance! We have a purpose and we don't have to fear that purpose. God created us to do good works. If God says it is good can it be anything else but good?

What did God create you to do?

If you are unsure, it could be because He is preparing you for your next work. Wait patiently and spend your time praying and focusing on God throughout your day.

When you know your purpose, don't be afraid to live it out. God wouldn't give you a purpose and not give you what you need to do it.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20
Read this verse over and over. What is God whispering to you through this verse?

Are you living your life like you believe this verse?

C. S. Lewis puts it this way: "Christ says, 'give me ALL. I don't want so much of your time and so much of your money and so much of your work: I want You. I have not come to torment your natural self, but to kill it. No half measures are any good. I don't want to cut off a branch here and a branch there, I want to have the whole tree down... Hand over the whole natural self, all the desires which you think innocent as well as the desires you think wicked—the whole outfit. I will give you a new self instead. In fact, I will give you Myself: my own will shall become yours."1

What is your impression of this statement?

Remember: You don't have to do the work. Let go and let God. Allow God, through the Holy Spirit, to take over.

“Taste and see that the LORD is good…” Psalms 34:8
Read this verse over and over listening for God's whisper.

What is meant by "taste and see"?

It is interesting to me that here David uses terms that are physical in nature. When we taste and see we are using two our senses that help us experience something real. When put something in our mouth to taste and we see things that reflect light in some way. How can we apply these senses to God?

God is real! He created everything that we experience around us and more. But we should taste and see beyond God's creation. By reading the Bible and through deep prayer we can see beyond our eyes and taste beyond our mouth. The Holy Spirit guides us to see and experience beyond the scientific and proven. We should chew on His Word. We can see God in others and ourselves. Can you taste and see the goodness of the Lord today?

Remember: All things are possible with God. Pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit so you can taste and see.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”  Isaiah 43:2-3
As you reread this allow God's word to penetrate deep and listen to God's gentle whisper. What is He saying to you?

I find these verses comforting. No matter the circumstance God is with me and will protect me. Notice that it does not say if you experience these events but when. God does not promise good times all the time but warns us that we will face hardships throughout our life. But trust in Him and we will come out the other side better for the experience. Will you trust?

When you lose your job, or a loved one dies, or you experience illness or injury, will you trust God to see you through it?

Remember: The fire may be hot and you may be toasted but God will keep you from being burned.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28
As you read this verse again, what is God whispering to you?

Are you experiencing some tough times or have you done something that you aren't proud of or even know it was sinful?

This verse is for you. What a comfort it is to know that when I sin and don't do exactly what I should, God will still make it right or work it for good if I believe and repent. I also find this verse gives me hope when I am struggling with things that are out of my control. This verse says that in the end whatever I am experiencing, good or bad, God will use for His purpose and it will be good. Can you accept this message?

Reread this verse and allow the Peace of God to calm you and fill you with joy. Remember even when we don't understand or can't see the results, God is working for the good of all His children.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
What is God whispering to you in this verse?

Background: Paul is writing to believers in Rome. In general they are saved but they aren't acting like "Christians."

Are you living your life like a Christian or do you blend in with the world?

When we receive the Holy Spirit and are saved we are transformed, but this doesn't mean we will automatically start living a perfect life. Here Paul is reminding the Christians in Rome to stop conforming to the world and renew your mind. This is where discipline or discipleship comes in. The Spirit doesn't force us to think and do things differently, but the Spirit does nudge us and whisper to us what we should do. We then must act on those nudges and whispers. God doesn't make us read the Bible but when we read the Bible the Spirit helps us to understand the words we read. The Spirit, sometimes by others, helps us to understand and then apply what Jesus teaches us. Are you reading and hearing God's Word as much as you should?

The only way we will recognize the devils lies is if we know God's word.

Remember: Read and listen to God's Word and allow the Spirit to renew your mind.

“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33
Read this verse over and over listening to what God is whispering to you.

This verse seems easy to follow but it is so easy to fall prey to peer pressure. Is there someone in your life that is pressuring you to do something that your Spirit is screaming don't?

The thing is often we don't realize it until it is too late. It can come from seemingly harmless things. The occasional gossip, the party where you drink too much, the cursing, swearing, talk about inappropriate activity. We all fall for it. At first we wince but they are popular or they make me feel good because they are funny, or if you get to know this person maybe they will help me advance in my career, or they make me feel loved or wanted. All seem harmless at first but you get drawn in and over time those things seem ok and you find yourself joining in.

Have you been there? Have you fallen prey to "bad character"?

I have, but thanks be to God, we can return to God's Word and repent and we can build our character once again.

Remember: God's love is bigger than anything you do, good or bad.

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
What is the Holy Spirit whispering to you as you read this over and over?

The first thing that I hear is God is for me! Wow what a comfort. Can you imagine anything better than that?

Now the doubt comes. What about when I am struggling? If God is for me why am I experiencing this?

I am then reminded of a song I wrote back when I was deep in hardship and struggle. I was asking a lot of questions and I heard that gentle whisper answer me:

My questions: "Lord, why do we have to struggle so much? Why does it have to be so tough? Why can't it go our way? Lord, what if things were easy? Wouldn't more people believe? Lord, what do you say?"

Answer: "We cannot obtain life on our own; through our brokenness we are shown Christ is the only way. Without troubles we won't see that our works won't set us free, Grace is the only way."

My Response: "I will rejoice in my troubles, I will rejoice in my trials, because without the fire we cannot be refined!"

More insight: "Without struggles how will be know? Without the work how will we grow? God planned it that way. If things would go too easily we wouldn't feel the need to call on His name, for Jesus is the only way."

Remember: When you feel like everything is working to pull you down, don't give up. "God is for you."

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
What is your first impression?

Reread these verses and listen to the gentle whisper of God. What do you hear?

If you doubted, this should clear things up. Nothing you say or do or don't say or don't do will change the love of God! What if you said something you shouldn't have? God loves you. How about you forgot God? Nope, God still loves you. Look at Peter, He denied Jesus three times yet Jesus came to him and said "feed my sheep." Look at the parable of the lost son, Luke 15:11-32, He lost everything God (His father) gave him yet God (His father) ran to meet him rejoicing! Are you the other son mad that His brother was getting so much attention? God loves you too. Even things outside of what you do or say can't separate you from God's love. Are you worried about someone you know who is struggling? God loves them too. Pray and let God show them His love.

Repent,

Relax,

Allow God to knock down those walls and

Let God give you a big hug and hear Him whisper "I Love You"
April 24, 2010
“My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming.” Psalm 27:8 NLT
Can you hear God's whisper to "come and talk with me?"

If you can that is great but most of us have trouble hearing the call of God. Look at how the Psalmist states it: "My heart has heard." What does he mean?

In the Bible the heart is used throughout scripture, but unlike today, it doesn't mean our feelings. Heart stands for all of you, or deep inside of you. The heart often represents the spiritual side of you, where the Spirit resides. With that in mind the Psalmist is saying that his spirit hears God calling and responds "Lord, I am coming." Think about it, even when you don't hear or realize God is calling the Holy Spirit within you hears and responds appropriately.

Remember: God is always calling us saying "Come and talk with me." We should respond in prayer. Don't think of talking to someone who is distant but remember God is beside you, around you and in you.
April 26, 2010
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:4
Read this verse over and listen to God's gentle whisper as you read. What are you hearing?

As I read this verse I am reminded of a story of a pastor who went to visit someone who had stopped coming to church. He was invited in and without saying a word the pastor sat down by the fire place which was burning. He took the tongs and took out an ember and sat it beside the fire. The ember then started to dwindle and almost went out. The Pastor then place the ember back into the fire in which it instantly started burning again. The man looked at his pastor and said I'll be in church on Sunday.

The vine of course is Jesus. How do we remain connected to Him?

One way is going to church. We need to be with the family of Christ, fellow Christians. We also need to stay connected to Him by reading and studying the Bible, His Word. Another way to be connected to Jesus is thru prayer.

God is not looking for a mechanical relationship. He wants us to be a part of Him, connected in every way. He wants us to have Jesus coursing through our veins. In order for this to happen we need to be connected to Him, like a branch to a tree or vine. We receive our nutrients from Him and thin blossom producing His fruit.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 ESV
Read this verse over and over. What is God whispering to you in this verse?

God is calling me to trust even when I don't understand or know what the outcome is going to be. That's not much of a revelation. Isn't that Faith?

I have a tendency to think that God is asking me to do this because... fill in the blank. I like to know ahead of time or think I know ahead of time what is going to happen. If my projected outcome sounds good enough then I will go through with what God is asking of me with joy. But if I don't understand or don't like what I see as the outcome I won't go through with it or I do so with anxiety. Is that faith?

What is God asking you to trust without knowing the outcome?

According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary Faith is: firm belief in something for which there is no proof; complete trust.

It's not faith if we need proof. It's not trusting if we need to know the outcome. Faith is our assurance, not knowledge. Human knowledge is foolishness in the sight of God (1 Corinthians 3:19). We should stop trusting in only the known and start trusting in what can't be proven.

Remember: God is faithful (Psalm 33:4, 1 Corinthians 1:9; 10:13, 2 Corinthians 1:18, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, 2 Timothy 2:13, just to name a few). God is trust worthy, has He ever broken a promise?
April 28, 2010
“…I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.” Ephesians 3:17 NLT
Let's do something different. Let's start by praying this prayer personally, with passion knowing it will come true.

"I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in my heart as I trust in Him. May my roots go down deep into the soil of Your marvelous love. Amen"

What would this kind of faith feel like?

What would this kind of faith look like?

We are a temple of God. We are a house made for Christ to live in. But if we fill it with things other than God, there is no room. By trusting in Him we can turn our house over to Him and let Him clean it so that He can live in our house. Imagine the Creator of everything living in your house. Imagine the God who gave His son to die to save you, wants to live with you and wants to live in you.

I will be the first to admit that I am a collector of junk. I tend to fill my house with it leaving no room for Christ. That is why I must release it to God daily. How can we give our lives to God daily?

There are many ways to apply this but I think we need to start by being deeply rooted in God's marvelous love. We need to allow God's love to envelop us. Imagine God giving you a big hug. We can only get there by repenting of our sin. We must forgive ourselves as well, turning it over to God.

Remember: God wants to be at home in you. Let Him.
April 29, 2010
“Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.” Hebrews 12:2 MSG
What is the Spirit whispering to you as you read this verse?

Jesus is our example. Study the gospels and you will see how Jesus lived. He showed compassion to those in need. He didn't follow the "in" crowd. He prayed a lot. His thoughts were for His father (God) then others. If we follow His example, trusting in God's will, having a close relationship with God, and putting others first, all the troubles and struggles in our life will not keep us from the joy and hope we have in Christ.

I must admit I struggle with this. I stray from God's will, I allow the business of my life keep me from prayer, and I love to put myself first and others after me. When I do this the struggles of the day weigh me down. Thanks be to God who sent His son, Jesus, to die for my sin giving me forgiveness and hope.

Are you living for Jesus?

It's never too late to repent and give your life to Jesus. This is something I must do daily.  I must die to self every morning asking for Jesus to live in me, and guide me this day. I must continue to study the Bible and pray constantly. When I don't that's when I'm most apt to stumble and stray.

Remember: Never lose sight of Jesus. He is our hope and our salvation.

"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2
Reread these verses. What does these verses mean to you?

Can you find rest in God alone?

I think the answer is yes for everyone but the real question is do you want to find rest in God alone?

Imagine what that Means.

When we find rest in God we understand that He is our salvation, He is our rock, He is our fortress. When we find rest in God we will never be shaken. Does this mean we will never face struggles?

No, it means that when bad times or bad things happen God will be there and will give us what we need to get through those struggles. If you are struggling with finding rest in God alone try the Contemplative Style Prayer Study in this web site. It is designed to help you develop a close relationship with God.

Remember: When you put your full trust in God you may be stirred but you won't be shaken.

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.” 1 Corinthians 3:19
As you read this verse over and over what is the Spirit whispering to you?

God is reminding me that I can't possibly understand Him and His word without the Spirit guiding me. He is also reminding me that I won't always know or understand why certain things happen. But He is also telling me to trust Him because He knows all. This is hard to comprehend but do you want a God so small that we can fully comprehend Him?

I believe in a God that is more loving, more forgiving, and more powerful than I can possibly understand or imagine. A God who is so wise that He makes my wisdom and anyone else look foolish. That's the kind of God that gives me hope. A God that is so loving that He gave His only Son to die to save me from my sins. Why would anyone suffer what Jesus suffered for a miserable sinner like me? That is foolishness to us but that is how much love God has.

Remember: God is faithful and loves you. He will work all things for good for those who believe.
